PHAN:
The Public Health Association of Nebraska (PHAN) exists to protect and promote personal, community and environmental health throughout a variety of public health networks.
PHAN exercises leadership in public health policy development and advocacy, provides a forum for the discussion of emerging public health issues, and enhances the professional growth of members and other public health professionals across the state.
CONFERENCE OBJECTIVE:
The purpose of this conference is to provide public health professionals with the information, skills, and resources to advocate for opportunities to improve public health in their communities.

A conference rate of $69.00 is available until August 24 for conference attendees. You will need to refer to the PHAN Conference when making reservations.

CONTINUING EDUCATION
An application has been approved for 8.5 contact hours from the Nebraska Nurses Association, an accredited approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
CANCELLATIONS
Conference cancellations will be honored with a full refund through September 12, 2008. After that time we will not be able to issue refunds but we will accept substitutions.

The Public Health Association of Nebraska is soliciting entries for a Poster Session, to be held at PHAN's Annual Conference in Kearney on September 26-27, 2008. Poster themes must address important public health issues that reflect the 2008 conference theme. Preference will be given to research projects that reflect data related to public health.
**Closed** Student Scholarship
The Public Health Association of Nebraska is pleased to announce a scholarship opportunity for student members interested in furthering their education in preparation for a career in public health. One $500 scholarship will be awarded at the PHAN Annual Conference in Kearney to a student in a public health-related field. Deadline for entry is August 15. Click here to download a form.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS
The Public Health Association of Nebraska (PHAN) is accepting conference workshop, general session and concurrent session proposals for the PHAN 2008 Annual Conference, to be held September 25-26, 2008 at the Ramada Inn Conference Center in Kearney, Nebraska. Proposals are due May 9, 2008 at 5:00 P.M. All entries MUST be submitted via e-mail. PHAN cannot guarantee that proposals submitted after that date will be considered.
